Pumpkin Farm!

I love, LOVE fall. Absolutely my favorite time of the year. Thankfully, we found ourselves with a gorgeous Saturday and nothing on the calendar. So we headed to Yeck’s farm to enjoy the day.
I really can’t believe how tall they are getting.
Our sweet girl didn’t want her brother to get lost in the corn maze.
Mr was beyond excited for the tractor ride.
I think Craig snapped this while we were on the tractor, I like it.
My sugar.
We had so much fun just hanging out with the kids. It’s such a rare treat to have a day that we don’t have to be anywhere. After the farm we went out to dinner and then stopped by Passavant Nursing Home to visit great-grandma.
This day was perfection.
He was so frustrated because his legs couldn’t quite reach the pedals. Next year, bud.

Happy Halloween!

Mr was so cute dressed up as a giraffe for Halloween.
I could just eat this little boy!!!
He kept telling daddy that he was ready to go to trick or treat. He wanted to get in the van and drive somewhere, he just could not understand that trick or treat was walking around to houses asking for candy.
It was very cold on trick or treat night, and as a result, attendance was down. Poor Sissy did not get to participate as she had a serious behavioral infraction just a few days prior. It was a really hard decision, but if you want to raise decent children, then you must discipline them.  And the consequences of poor behavior must hurt, otherwise, what is the point? By the time the night arrived, she was fine, we snuggled in a chair on the driveway to pass out candy together. In fact, she enjoyed spending time with me and seeing all of the costumes.

BYOP | The Pumpkins

Our 12th annual BYOP and Fall Festival was an absolute blast. It is clearly our biggest event of the year and we enjoy it so much. Thank you to everyone that helped and celebrated with us. We are looking for more volunteers for next year, please let me know if you are interested. And don’t forget to order apparel!! http://www.cafepress.com/annualbyop

BYOP | Fun!

Rachel and John Patrick.
Love Kevin’s red hair.
And here is the buried treasure corn game.
It was a huge hit!! But very messy!
I love this photo because there are six separate vignettes that are occurring. Let’s begin on the far left. John Butch is looking at the corn mess and thinking, “there is gonna be corn in my kid’s diaper for days.” The four little ones that are sitting on the edge of the yard are saying, “do you think we should go on that haunted trail? It doesn’t look so scary, are you going? I dunno, are you? Maybe if my mommy holds my hand.” Alex (standing by fire pit), “I need to amass more candy. This is not enough.” My parents and Rachel, “Yeah, this is really fun, Heather and Craig go all out, but she’s crazy if she thinks I’m helping to clean up.” The bigger kids on the hay wagon, “HEY! Let’s run over here, scare the little kids then run around the house like freaking maniacs!!”

BYOP | Pumpkin Carving

My friend Michelle was the official BYOP Co-Director this year. I can’t thank her enough for all of her effort, dedication and time; the job is not as glamorous as one might think. And no one works harder than this lady.
Before they could begin carving, the tweens had to get ready for the haunted trail.
I asked Michelle to take a photos of us, good thing I was paying attention.
This pumpkin carving is serious business, just look at the concentration on those faces.
See what I mean?
Even Leroy got in on the action, typically he is too busy prepping food to carve.
I’m pretty sure this was a very serious team meeting.
