We had so much fun at the family picnic at Grandma’s retirement home in July.

This is Grandma’s roommate, Peggy. She is so sweet and kind, and VERY protective of Grandma. It’s cute.
Thank you cousin Chrissy for taking this photo!
I told her to make a silly face, she thinks I’m crazy.
Everyone was having so much fun.
Bud was showing off the dino that he won.
I can’t even describe the love that I feel for the three people in this photo.
Four generations, all with the same middle name: Dorothy Jean, Sylvia Jean, Heather Jean and Ella Jean. I have already explained to Ella what she must do if she has a daughter. She knows her responsibility. LOL

Ella gave her the princess crown that she won because, “she’s the real princess, mom.”
I love the expression on Grandma’s face when Aunt Nancy decided to take her off-road!
My sweet girl, we brought so many stuffed animals home from this picnic.
Collecting tickets, we won big!
I LOVE the way he is looking at her.
A little less than a month after the family picnic, Grandma caught pneumonia. She has been so healthy her entire life that I had predicted either one of two things would ultimately take her from us: pneumonia or a broken hip. She bounced back a little, but never fully recovered. We said good-bye to her last evening, she was surrounded by aunts and cousins when she took her last breath. We are at peace knowing that she is dancing with Jesus in heaven and having a glorious reunion with Grandpa. All I ever wanted was for my children to know my Grandma, and I feel extremely blessed that they had the opportunity. Praise God. I choose joy.

I’m not wearing any makeup, a very rare event, but we were in paradise and soooo relaxed.
